Dr Rakhee Fatania

Associate Principal Forensic Psychologist

Dr Rakhee Fatania, BSc (Hons), ForenPsyD, C.Psychol, is a Senior Chartered and Registered Forensic Psychologist.  Dr Fatania has over 16 years of experience working in private, contractual and NHS services.  In the NHS, Dr Fatania has been employed as a Senior Psychologist working in a medium secure forensic mental health in-patient service and on the Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway Project for West Midlands Probation.  Formerly, she was appointed as the Senior Psychologist for the clinical psychology department at HMP Birmingham where she was responsible for leading on the delivery and development of this service.  During her career she has delivered psychological therapy using various models of treatment including CBT, CAT, ACT and DBT.  She is also trained in the evidence based Trauma Focused CBT.  She has worked therapeutically with individuals with personality disorders, substance dependency, offending, psychosis, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, suicide and self-harm, neurodevelopmental disabilities and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and trauma.  Dr Fatania has produced psychological risk assessments for Parole Board hearings for Lifer and IPP sentenced prisoners for Northern Ireland and England HM Prison Service.  She has a wide range of forensic risk assessment experience utilising a wide range of risk assessment frameworks.
